There are no limits. Except for the transport dimensions.
When you step into the new COMMOD Focus, one thing becomes obvious very quickly: someone has put a lot of thought into this! The materials have been carefully selected and match each other perfectly in every room, every piece of furniture fulfills its purpose and has found its perfect place.
This is also due to our planning team 😊 but to a significant extent thanks to the two residents Raphaela and Dominik. They put so much “love and brainpower” into planning their dream house. This has definitely paid off!
With his background in interior design, Dominik has a passion for design. He is constantly on the lookout for that special extra. For Raphaela, it was important that things were functional, cosy and sustainable. “We didn’t want sterile surfaces. The wood just gives the house such a cosy feel!”
Perseverance pays off!
The two are strongly rooted in the region. Therefore, only a building plot in their home municipality was an option for them. Not an easy task, of course. After two years of seeking and asking around, they finally found what they were looking for in the middle of the Mölltal, directly below Falkenstein Castle – “only by chance and while chatting”. It was “love at first sight”. So they prove that persistence pays off. It’s a wonderful place for a COMMOD HOUSE, we believe.
Prefabricated house vs. individual needs
But why did they choose a wooden modular house from COMMOD? Raphaela wanted to build as quickly and as simply as possible. Spending days and nights on building sites would not have been an option for her. That’s why she was leaning towards a prefabricated house. For Dominik, it was important to design their dream house as individually as possible. But they also wanted to build with a local partner. And this was how COMMOD became their partner of choice!
“After the first meeting, we had the impression that you guys really do individual planning. Almost everything is possible. There are no limits to the design – except for the transport dimensions. Once you understand the system, it’s something for everyone! For detail lovers – like me – it’s extremely cool,” Dominik enthuses in our conversation.
The planning and construction phase went very smoothly for the customers, “we hardly had any personal appointments. That wasn’t really necessary. It worked out great as it was (mostly online).”
The day of the assembling in December 2021 was a tough one! Excitement, cold, ice and snow – there was a bit of everything. Take a look at the stunning assembling video here: Assembling COMMOD Focus
Spoiler: Our experienced team conquered all challenges and thus Raphaela and Dominik were able to move into their house by the end of the year.
We wouldn’t do anything differently!
“There is a saying: The first house you build for your enemy, the second for your friend and the third for yourself. This does not apply to us at all. We can’t think of anything we would do differently if we were building again.”
What the two particularly love about their house? That they have succeeded in bringing the outside in. “During the day we enjoy the view from the dining table to the outdoors on all sides and at night we can watch thunderstorms or the full moon from our bed. That’s really cool!”
“But also sitting on the couch in the morning and watching the mountain peaks slowly being bathed in sunlight. That’s just dreamy.”
Luxury with two bathrooms in a modular house.
“Everyone who visits us is amazed! Because it’s so beautiful, but also so spacious! From the outside it looks much smaller than it really is. We really have a lot of rooms (bedroom, office and yoga room) and even two bathrooms – that’s luxury!”
Sitting at Raphaela and Dominik’s dining table, it becomes more than obvious: they have fulfilled their dream of a very individual home. We wish them all the best and many wonderful moments in their COMMOD FOCUS!
