The COMMOD wooden pavilion ‘HolzHerz’ is an abstract 3D heart that gives wood the stage it deserves.

The interior forms a vibrant space, illuminated with a natural green colour, which acts as a room divider leading guests into the office. A canopy of wooden flowers floats above visitors’ heads, giving them the feeling of being outside in the forest. The fresh smell of the wooden construction is accompanied by birdsong as soon as you approach the interior. The display of different types of wood – natural, coated, oiled, etc. – teaches visitors about the variety of woods and their uses. The pavilion is made of regional spruce construction wood and shows a different face at every point of the 360-degree accessibility. The pavilion can be assembled and dismantled by 3 people and is easy to transport.

The intention of the installation was to allow visitors to experience our love of wood, to provide interesting facts about the building material and, in addition to the sight of the ecological materials, to allow them to absorb their scent, touch, feel and breathe them.
