COMMOD COMB, COMMOD HOUSE GmbH, Austria
The COMMOD COMB was designed as a place of retreat in modern shared working spaces, open offices and conferences because of its sound-absorbing qualities. The hexagon-shaped module consists of prefabricated easy assembling elements. All parts, from the frame to the connecting pieces, are made entirely out of wood.
Natural and CO2 neutral materials were combined to design a product that can provide additional private space within minutes.
The COMB can be easily adapted, replicated and scaled. It has the possibility to create different and multiple purpose spaces in various sizes and can be used as a furniture for festivals, public spaces and exhibitions.
Different materials and colours can be added to the comb with the ability to adapt to the user\’s wishes and make it flexible to any space. It can be used for indoor and outdoor areas.
The COMB, which can also be used as a “chill box” in busy surroundings, can be easily assembled by only two people and transported in standardized cars.
COMMOD HOUSE BSL ”SUN HOUSE”, COMMOD HOUSE, Austria
The SUN HOUSE is composed of 2 modules in an L-Shape plan and it totals 80 m² in GFA. The sun terrace provides a sheltered space for unhindered views across the rolling landscape of Graz all the way across to the Koralpe. The optimized room layout allows openness, meanwhile providing a central, light flooded spaces that spans the two bedrooms. The sun penetrates every corner of the house and makes the “SUN HOUSE” an energy place. An orthogonal trapezoidal window forms a special feature of this house, providing a specific viewpoint. Shadow is provided by means of a modern interpretation of the window balustrade, allowing the window opening to disappear in the larch facade. The exterior features like carport, storage room and entrance area are also harmoniously added as a wooden construction and part of the entire wooden house ensemble. Inside of the house natural materials like oak flooring and wooden beams create a very comfortable and healthy indoor climate.
TABLE & BENCH, COMMOD HOUSE, Austria
Stylish table & bench for a modern-styled dining room made of oiled solid oak. The contours taper to the edge and lend the tabletop a fine, floating appearance. The bench is upholstered in light grey loden fabric that softens the slant of the legs. The bench unit itself is attached to the wall as a console. Curved lines at the corners of the dining table soften the silhouette, while the crossed legs add a striking edge to the design. This table and bench set are made for everyday use. Sharp angles, architectural frame and smooth finish described our striking and contemporary design. The furniture is exquisite and pure in materiality. Subtle details are adjusted according to the design, creating a harmonious and stylish living atmosphere.
